ABOUT TUMI TEAM

"Welcome to Team Tumi Boys, this is our first participation in the Robot X Challenge competition series. I am Manuel Escobar, the leader of the team that integrates professional from robotics industry and ungraduated students from Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. During last year, we have been working on conditioning the Wave Adaptive Modular Vessel (WAM-V) with the necessary equipment to perform robotics tasks, simulating the maritime system and testing on wherever items for processing sensors data and controlling WAM-V under GAZEBO and ROS environments. Finally, we proved all these system in real time specifically in Pucusana, Lima, Peru. Thank you and see you in Sidney, Australia."

Validation of the WAM-V in Pucusana

The Tumi Team carried out its tests on a beach in the district of Pucusana, located in the south of the province of Lima - Peru. This environment is ideal to carry out the validation of the components of the WAM-V with which it was possible to carry out different navigation tests, through the control of its propellers, as well as the measurement by the sensors used, reaching the proposed goals.

We are proud to participate with the Wam-V representing Peru. The Tumi Team is made up of students and professionals related to robotic systems. After many weeks of work, the Tumi Team managed to implement all the components and perform all the necessary tests with the WAM-V. Now the tumi team is ready to participate and achieve great achievements in the Robot X Challenge competition that will take place in Sydney, Australia.
